Updating Issues with GO 500

Hi, I’ve now had enough, ever since I’ve had my TomTom all updates take ages, and it keeps asking me to connect my device every few minutes, so I have to unplug and start again, doing my head in!!!

What Model Tomtom device are you trying to update ???

Re "Download/installation interrupted".....
The Computer Manufacturers appear to be setting "USB Selective Suspend" to ON as default
Especially Laptops, maybe to improve the appearance of the battery life

Are your USB ports set for power saving "USB Selective Suspend"

Click on link and scroll down to "Turn Off USB Selective Suspend"

Also turn off any Screen savers any other Power savers or USB port monitoring software installed

Random Disconnects on Surface Pro 3 & 4
Do you have or have access to a 'Surface Dock', if so plug your device into a USB port on that. Others have found that to work

On the Win10 tablets, Microsoft has hidden the "USB Selective Suspend" menu
You will need to edit the Registry for the USB Selective Suspend menu to show

It’s a GO 500, and I’m using a Surface.

Done the usb disabled thingy, fingers crossed and I will report back shortly.........
