I have an XL which I know is no longer supported. Today for no apparent reason a cross appeared on the startup screen. A reset appears to work, but when rebooting freezes on a screen displaying specification data and won't complete start up. On connecting to a PC, PC say I need to format the devise's drive before it will recognize it. Any ideas?

Sorry for the late reply! Please follow the steps in the public FAQ here to reinstall the device software using the TomTom HOME. (Select 'I have a map to download on my account' option in the link here.
