My GPS always says No Charge or Low Charge when not plugges in to car or USB

My GO 5100 is a great GPS however when it is not plugged into a USB port in the car or on my computer it always shows "no Charge" or "Low Charge". This means that I cannot specify a destination until I plu it in and wait for it to charge. I have left it plugged into my computer for several hours but it still shows the same messages. Is there something I should be doing or is this normal?

Assuming it works okay when in the car being used then it would appear the battery is failing . You can look on Youtube to see how to replace and Ebay or Amazon for batteries if you want to try yourself otherwise you need to find a place to repair it .You can ask customer support.
