Won’t sync beyond 9%

My phone won’t sync my latest ride beyond 9% and cuts out every time. I’ve tried deleting the app and downloading it again and also forgetting my watch then syncing it. Any suggestions?
It may be an incompatible phone or Android version. You always have the option to sync by computer. Since TT Sports went out of business over 18 months ago and have seriously cut back on support, using the computer may be your only option as no development is taking place on the watch or app. they are what they are.
It seems like the computer app (tomtom Sports Connect) is having troubles too: i keep getting "We'll try again in a bit" error message. Apparently, it's failing to upload the activities.
