Hi,
I have had a Tomtom one since 2006 and it's finally given up,
I managed to source a second unit and have allocated it to my TomTom account
but I can't seem to use the maps that I purchased for the broken model ?
Can anyone help ?
thanks
Mc

HI @JudgeClarke
Maps are tied to the serial number of the unit they are supplied with or purchased for and can not be moved to another device.

Hi @JudgeClarke
I regret to say that a number of one units have been declared obsolete and you can not buy maps etc for them. Can you advise the 2 letters at the start of the units serial number.so we can check this..

Hi @JudgeClarke
Regrettably this is the information re maps etc for your unit.
Important: Your device is no longer supported through phone , and it's not possible to buy new maps and services for your device. You can still get help through our user forum and FAQs.
Here is the link to the page this data comes from.
https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9508/kw/which tomtom do I have
You scroll down the list of Serial number prefixes to E2
The other unit has the same result.

Thanks for looking Doug,
... I can't really moan after 13 years0 -
HI @JudgeClarke
Some would moan but the march of time I am afraid.
I have a Apple 5SE phone which is a model they were selling very recently. There are suggestions that the new software update due later this year will not be available for the phone or the 6 and 6s models. Tomtom are still updating units far beyond what Apple do for their equipment.
