I have been connected to MyDrive since yesterday afternoon and your 'servers are too busy try again' every time. My TomTom doesn't work because it needs your update??

I'm having the same issue. Been trying for hours and I need this so I can take a trip this week!!!!. Device won't work without the update.
Servers can't be this busy this long . Seems like I have some kind of issue every time I try to update. I'm thinking that this may be my last Tom Tom.

    Hi @Jeffers21

Have you got the latest MyDrive Connect software?

    Doug
  • WeldrithWeldrith Posts: 4 [Master Traveler]
Yes I have. It updated this morning. And I've restarted my PC and the GPS device several times.
  • WeldrithWeldrith Posts: 4 [Master Traveler]
Fixed it. I had to uninstall MyDrive Connect software and re-download and reinstall. Now it's updating. Shouldn't there be a message stating that needs to be done before the update works?

    HI @Weldrith

Thank you for the information..Normally an update when offered is okay.

Weldrith - bless you! After uninstalling MyDrive Connect and re-downloading it again, it finally started working and updated successfully. Now I just hope that GPS issue will be fixed by it as well.

    Hi All,

There was a temporary server outage (Errors like 503, No internet connection, server busy) yesterday with MyDrive Connect which is now resolved. You can now connect your device and download the updates. Please let us know in case this is still happening.

    Thanks, lampard

I hate to tell you, but you wrote that two weeks ago and I still can't update my TomTom maps! I get the error message that says, Our servers are very busy right now
Click Retry a few times until you are connected. If that doesn't work, close MyDrive Connect and start it again.

I follow the instruictions over and over and over again and it's just an endless loop. How am I supposed to update my GPS? GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Had the same problem. I tried million times and only thing that worked was uninstalling My Drive Connect and then downloading it again from TomTom web and re-installing it. Out of sudden it worked fine and updates started to work. Mind you, it is pretty silly you are required to do this for it to work since My Drive updated itself just couple days ago and there was no mention that I might need to uninstall it and re-install from the scratch. Anyway, hope it will help some of you guys. It has been very frustrating.

    Hi @Ummagumma

Someone recently who indicated they were having the same sort of problem as you said they solved it by completely deleting the MyDrive Connect software and after turning restarting their PC reloaded it.

    Hi
    @oracleocpdba

On the rare occasions that I have a problem with MyDrive Connect
I Un-install MyDrive Connect using the Revo Uninstaller

Download & install the free version of Revo Uninstaller
Revo first Un-installs the Program... Then scans and removes all of the left over files a normal Un-install leaves behind
    Here...https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

(1)... Uninstall MyDrive Connect Using the Revo Uninstaller
(2)... Clear your browsers cache (Optional, but I find it helps)
(3)... Restart your PC (Not Turn Off & Turn On again)
Reinstall MyDrive Connnect (Without your device connected)
Connect & Turn on your device... Login to MyDrive Connect

    Hi all,

I experience this problem since last Thursday. Reinstalling MyDrive Connect didn't solve the problem. I removed MyDrive Connect and then had to reinstall it manuallly again.

Some TT support pages show a banner concerning this problem at the top of the page:

    https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/contact/locale

"You may currently experience issues updating your device using MyDrive Connect. We are working on a fix with high priority. Please try again later."

    Dutch:

    https://nl.support.tomtom.com/app/contact/locale/nl_NL

"Mogelijk kunt u problemen ondervinden tijdens het updaten van uw apparaat via MyDrive Connect. Wij zijn met hoge prioriteit bezig om het probleem op te lossen. Probeer het later opnieuw."

This banner is showing for at least 3 days now. I haven't experienced such a long outage in years.

I'd like to download a fresh QuickGPSfix update.

    Cheers.

Hi this is exactly what i did to get it working:-

1: Uninstall My Drive Connect I use "IObit Uninstaller" (this removes all residue files as well).
    2: Restart laptop/desktop.
3: Download new latest version of My Drive Connect.
    4: Reinstall My Drive Connect.

Hope this helps people with same issue.

    Hi Ummagumma,

    Thank you for your reply.

I followed your above instructions (using Geek Uninstaller), to no avail.

MyDrive Connect still won't connect to the TT servers.

I still get the "Our servers are very busy right now" message (Dutch) :/

    Cheers.

    Hi HCivic,
I can only suggest trying IOBit uninstaller 8, make sure you don't tick any boxes to add other software like "driver booster" and "advance systemcare" to it though, nothing wrong with them but will take ages to install and get rid of.

    https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php?ref=news

    Hope this works for you.

    Cheers Ummagumma

PS don't forget to restart after uninstalling
  • HCivicHCivic Posts: 32 [Prominent Wayfarer]
    Thanks again, Ummagumma.

I'm very hesitant to install anything from IOBit, because of very bad experiences in the past...

Could anybody (from TomTom?) please confirm (or deny) that the banner text at the support pages...

"You may currently experience issues updating your device using MyDrive Connect. We are working on a fix with high priority. Please try again later."

...is referring to the "very busy server problem"?

IOW, is this a server side problem or client side?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers.

    Hi @HCivic

I can recommend @YamFazMan 's suggestion in the following topic.

    https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1112487/message-coming-server-busy#latest

A number have used this successfully to clear MDC.

Hi the only negative issues I've had with IOBit is their "Advance system care", that can slow your laptop down, but i actually used IObit uninstaller to get rid of it :) I've been using it for a few years now. But I completely understand your reluctance to use something you have had issues with.
Hopefully someone from TomTom will come on here and help.
