Hi guys,
As above, my PCs have suddenly stopped talking to my Start 42... nothings changed and I've tried different USB ports, cable and (PC) hardware. Also performed a reset. None of my machines appear to want to talk to my device.
My Start 25 on the other hand is fine. Not sure what's happened?
Any ideas?

An extra point to make, the Start 42 wakes up on USB power from my PC.0

Hi @bwheale
Try a Soft Reset ie with the unit working and fully charged hold the ON/OFF button down for about 20 seconds until you hear the Drumroll sound then release the button.
If that does not work try a Reset the Device in the System Menu. Your unit will need to sync back to your MyDrive account to restore your Favourites etc after you have set it up again.

Thanks! Tried both your proposals and nothing... I'm beginning to think my device is faulty.
I take it Tomtom only provide a 1 year warranty? I'm literally a week late0 -
Hi @bwheale
Any help here

Hi @bwheale
The other option is to try a recovery of your unit.

The 3 taps is the tricky bit.

Thanks! I did look at that but that requires communication with MyDrive doesn't it? I don't even get the 'USB device attached jingle' with my Start 42...0

HI @bwheale
There are some on here who have more PC knowledge than I and hopefully they will pick this up. I wonder if its a device driver problem but you say it picks up your other unit. Don't know if they will use the same driver.
Otherwise it looks like a call to customer services on Tuesday..

Hi @bwheale Hi @DougLap
Sorry for the delay, I was away this weekend.
I don't think that the Recovery Mode is necessary, it will make the Start 42 unusable without possible connection to MDC.
The same driver is used for all TomTom devices (Nav3/4/5). I also think of a driver problem related to the MDC installation.
To begin the simplest, cleanly reinstall MDC.
With your device Not connected to the PC:
1/ Uninstall MDC, accept the removal of downloads in the popup window.
2/ "Restart" your PC (Not Shut down or Sleep)
3/ Download and install the last version MDC 4.2.5.3770, take it here:
- On this page, at the bottom, the green button "Download for Windows®":
https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/mydrive-connect/
- Or here directly from TomTom official servers:
http://cdn.sa.services.tomtom.com/static/sa/Windows/InstallTomTomMyDriveConnect.exe
Connect your devices:
- With your Start 25 (Nav3) no need to identify the TomTom account.
- With your Start 42 (Nav4) the "Log in" window will ask for your email and password.
Regards.
