Via52 will not update

I am trying to update the maps on my Via52 using MyDriveConnect but nothing seems to happening. The MyDrive screen has a pictogram of a monitor with a green circle at 100% and another pictogram of the Via52, there are three green dots pulsing with the word 'Checking'.
On the Via52 it says that it is connected to computer but nothing appears to be happening, even after several hours. So far I have reset the device, uninstalled and reinstalled MyDrive and formatted the SD card, all to no avail. What to do next?
