TomTom discontinued updates for my "Lifetime" XXL540 GPS and essential turned it into a all but useless and very expensive paperweight. I am so disappointed as I rarely used this device over very few years since I purchased and it was at the time a very expensive GPS. How does a company with a good reputation get away with screwing the consumer by arbitrarily deciding that the definition of "lifetime" is only a few years after a consumer purchases a product guaranteed to have "Lifetime" updates. Needless to say as much as I liked the XXL540 I will never buy a product from your company. It is so blatantly fraudulent.

Devices with lifetime maps are not affected
Tomtom have already stated that Lifetime Maps and any Existing Map Subscriptions will be honoured

In any event my TomTom App advises that there definition of "lifetime" is when they decided and my GPS is on the list of models no longer supported and updates of maps do not load so I am confused by this information. Something is wrong here.
