Urgent update on the GO 730 device tomtom WNRO

I have a go730 and I got an urgent email directing me to update the device. When I try to do so, it tells me that I do not have enough storage. It directs me to remove some data to increase storage space. The only thing that I could remove was the only map that I have to create sufficient space. I tried placing a 2 GB disc in for added storage but it doesn't seem to recognize it. What should I do?
