Word has been out... a "new lineup".
Has this GO PREMIUM all new hardware inside, or is it just the GO 5200 in a new package?
Seeing the photos, specs and features I think it's a rebranded 5200 (so basically old(er) hardware, sold for the same price).
What do you think?

Thx. But I don't really see hardware specs in terms of CPU etc. When compared to the GO 5200 the specs are the same.
It more looks like some sort of ROM update on the 5200-device (branded Go Premium), so that IFTTT can be implemented as well.0 -
kiddingguy : The new premium is about 20% faster .. i've got both and eg boot is about 15 second faster 50sec vs 67 second and a 950 km route Nice also something like 15 second faster. a bit smoother scroling... not much difference.0

Hi
@ChrisL1971
Have you updated your NAV5 (wi-fi) Device to the latest NavKit v19.101
Here... https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1113098/new-software-v19-101-available-for-download/p1
Then try a comparison between your NAV5 (wi-fi) Device and the Premium device
I think my GO 6200 with NavKit v19.10... Is faster, less laggy in the Menus and the Start-up from Sleep, to being a usable device, is almost instantaneous

Tomtom Moderators & other Tomtom Staff... Stated many times the NAV5 (wi-fi) Devices and the Premium Range have the same CPU and Hardware

Over time the 5200 (or any device) slows down with digital detritus, such as journey history, log files, behaviour tracking, etc. - as will your Premium. A factory reset clears it all out and it performs as new.
Reconfiguring doesn't take long, and you won't lose your Places. In fact I've just done it to mine after the firmware upgrade - took around 10 minutes (and that includes pairing my phone).1 -
I tested Both with new software from yesterday and fully reset to default settings and using the same MyDrive registration.0

Hi
Set-up the GO 6200 & Premium devices side by side
Start-up from Sleep, to being a usable device, is almost instantaneous both devices
Planned a route Lands end to John 'o' Groats... Set-up the route on both devices, tapped the Drive Icon simultaneously on both devices... Both devices reached 100% at the same time

Just recently upgraded my GO-5200 to the Premium version (5") and I cannot find any difference in both devices other than that the screen now has turned very pale. The viewing angle has been changed. But could also be a batch LCD screens from other source. I cannot imagine that TomTom is using such cheap screens in 2019 devices. For me, this is a no-GO. I'll return the unit and keep using my old 5200.0
