Hi all,
Just got a runner 3 + cardio watch last week and using the firmware version of 1.7.64.
When I set the Heart Rate sensor to "on", I can see the green light on the back of the watch flashing and the bpm reading initially is showing --.
But after about 10 seconds it will start displaying some bpm settings (something like 65 or sometimes higher) even though i have not put the watch around my wrist at all.
Is this a normal behaviour or am i having a faulty unit?
Thanks all for answering.

It is normal, the LED uses light patterns to determine HR and the changes in ambient light in the room will cause it to get random readings.
I would take care with your buying decision considering TomTom left the wearables business almost 18 months ago and is just selling out their inventory. All production and development has stopped and there will be no new features or changes to the existing features in the future. There are also numerous bugs that will not be addressed (battery drain, connectivity, etc.). If you are able, you may want to consider returning the device and going with another brand that is active in the sports watch market and intends to continue producing and supporting devices.5
