Non access to updates

I have windows 7. I have downloaded the latest Mydriveconnect for my computer and my device (start52 nav) has a full battery. When I press the Mydrive icon a small white screen appears followed quickly with a large black screen that fills my computer screen. I cannot progress any further and cannot access the screen that shows updates needed.!!
