Hi @Edmund Nankivell
Welcome to the community!
Your first requirement- POI
> POI's are supported but only .ov2 files not the images.
> Favourites on the new devices are called 'My Places'- These can be backed up and restored using the MyDrive Web
> Prepare route- The device allows you to plan a route in advance and also you can use the MyDrive web or the MyDrive app(smartphone) to plan routes and send them to the device.
All the above features are available on the latest range of TomTom devices.

I won't be the best judge to tell exactly the device for you but have a look here:
https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/sat-nav/car-sat-nav/products/
All these models have the features I mentioned above.
Now some of them have different screen sizes, some support TomTom Services(Traffic and Speed Cameras) through a built-in SIM and some through pairing with a smartphone.
Just take out some time to go through the details and specifications.
And of course, if you have any doubts just ask here and someone will surely help you out.
