Updated SD card now no maps

Tarnum1Tarnum1 Posts: 9 [Apprentice Seeker]
I have just updated SD card due to WNRO bug letter this morning, after numerous problems and error messages it said it was updated. However when I insert it back into the navigation system I have no maps at all. The car is a 2010 Scenic and we purchased it last year, prior to update I had no problems at all

    Hi Tarnum1

I have reactivated the map on your device.

I would advise that you follow the below steps..

    1. Connect the SD card to the computer and open TomTom HOME.
    2. Click Manage my device in TomTom HOME and select the Items on device tab.
    3. Expand Maps and then select the map you want to remove.
    4. Click Remove selected items, click OK to delete the map.

Once this is done- Download the Map I assigned-

    # Click Update my device in TomTom HOME.
    # Your new map is shown in the list of updates.
    # Click Update and install.

    Vikram :)

Please help what can I do now, do I need to buy a new memory card?

What is the current size of the memory card you are using.. Because the size of the map is just less than 2Gig.

Try to see if you can free up space on the device..

The size of the SD card is 1.83GB and there is 1.51GB space left. If I buy a new SD card can I just copy everything over?

Your TomTom Carminat should support memory expansion upto 8 GB

    See here: https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2634

Keep the old memory card as back up and when you get a new card, from this FAQ-

    Follow steps:

Now connect the card to the computer and add the map I assigned.

Paid £20 for new SD card, formatted, copied files from original card and updated maps but when I put card back into car it doesn't do anything and still says no maps. Tried putting it back into computer and it won't connect. Really sick of trying to sort this out.

Yes but wasn't sure if I had to copy everything from old card or update maps before initializing.

I did the software update and purchased maps at the same time on my laptop, I inserted the SD card back into the car following the correct instructions. When inserting the SD card back I got an egg timer, then a green screen with picture of a sat nat with a red cross with a hand and an arrow to remove the SD card. I have done all the trouble shooting and still does not work. Wednesday (27/03/19) I took the car to the Renault dealership for a diagnostics (£108.00) to be told I need a new Sat Nav (£778.28+ VAT) and a new SD Card ((£122.04+ VAT) and then on top of that would also be labour. Got the car back today (29/03/19 unfixed) TomTom will not take responsibility and Renault case handler will not take my calls. Has anyone else had this very expensive problem from the free update?
