So which came first the 6200 or 620? Is 620 the future as TomTom want to get rid of sim models? As data used is so minimal is there any advantage to sim models?

Both devices was released in the same Month/Jear.
The Go6200WIFI uses the 2G Standard sim.
If I remember correctly, 2G is switched off in Australia, so the device also requires a smartphone pairing.

Definitely -- with the SIM models you don't need a specific smartphone tied to it. Anyone can use it, with or without a phone, and traffic will work.

Alas, fewer and few areas support the 2G SIM which TomTom uses.
