I'm going to Europe in a few months Is there a way to download European maps with turn by turn directions?

Hi @waterman46
I have the Apple version of Mobile Go on my phone.
If I Tap Settings then Tap Maps it shows the one map I have downloaded on my phone and there is also an option to Download a Map which if I press lists the maps available. I assume yours could be the same.
If I had the US map on my phone then where it is showing that UK map as the map I have I would expect it to show the US map as also on the phone but not selected. If I was to select the US map I would then expect the map I would now see when I boot the App up as the US.
Hope that answers your question. By the way why did you put my earlier answer as Off topic. Dardontrade had not said what TT unit he was talking about but in earlier posts of his he was talking about using the Android phone. Like here I am trying to help and pointing out how an Apple app works as I would expect it to be similar on an Android.

@dardontrade;
Just remember the maps to not switch by themselves.
You will have to turn off the US map and turn on the Europe map.
None of the maps talk to each other.
So go to your downloaded maps and un tick US and tick the Europe one.
When you are back in the US you will have to switch it back again.2

Hi @dardontrade
Are you referring to when using on your Android Phone.
On the Apple Mobile Go with the European map loaded if I:-
Tap Menu
Tap Current Route
Tap Show Instructions then it gives me turn by turn instructions.
Don't know if the Android Phone app is the same.but if it works like that on the map you have I would expect it to work the same here.

When I installed GO on my Android device I was asked to select maps, so I selected Eastern and Central Europe plus SW United States. Now GO works ok in the US map area I guess because that is where I am at present, but won't find anything in Europe. So how do I tell GO to use the loaded Europe map? And how would I load more maps, I cannot find anything in the program to do that.0

I was able to download the map of Europa, I hope it's start to work with the voice guidance once I'm there. Presently I'm still in the good old USA, and the local maps showing.0

Too bad none of this is shown in the user manual. Thanks for the info. Wonder what happens if you set a route that needs to use 2 maps?0

For that to work you would have to download one map of the world.
No sure if you can do that or even want to have that much on your phone.
But TomTom has never had any of their maps talk to each other.
That goes for their stand alone units too.
Example:
If I download Benelux and German maps they are 2 different maps and will not talk to each other.
So I would have to download Western Europe and not Benelux and Germany.2
