SIM card in the USA to get traffic updates.

I have a GO Camper and this has a SIM card in to receive traffic updates etc. Does this SIM work outside of Europe ie the USA to get these updates?
If not then will I be able to get them via my smartphone using my mobile data and then connect to the satnav via Bluetooth the see the traffic?

    The Traffic facility only works in the region the Unit was purchased in.

    So if you bought it in Europe works there but will not work in the USA etc etc. not even with your mobile data via Bluetooth..

    So you are saying that I can not get the updates for traffic in the USA via my smartphone. Just thought I could as you were able to to get them on an earlier device via the phone instead of an inbuilt SIM.

    Someone the other day was complaining that they had emigrated to Australia and their Traffic had stopped working via the inbuilt Sim or his Phone data. It was explained that Traffic is tied to the region of purchase.

    He contacted TT as suggested and they agreed to reset his Phone to Australia thus enabling him to get Traffic as he now lived there permanently.
