Is there a way to correct inaccurate splits on a run?

Hi
Usually my TomTom Spark is very reliable and accurate for my runs but today I ran a short 4km recovery run with a friend and the difference between the splits on my TomTom and her Garmin are astounding.
My TomTom says I ran 7:27, 6:38, 5:48, 5:58.
My friend's Garmin says we ran 5:53; 5:57, 5:52, 5:53 which seems far more likely as it was a short, fast outing for us.
Why does this happen and is it correctable. I know it seems like a small niggle but I worked hard and would like to see the real splits.

There is no way to correct the splits. You probably had some bad GOS data which threw off the calculations. There is nothing you can do to fix it.2
