I see that the thread is a year old. I am having this problem Jan 8 2019 in the U.S. Seems to be a recurring issue.
This is a temporary server outage. We'll let you know once this is fixed and post back here with the confirmation.
As for everyone else. I am experiencing this access issue from Australia
The servers are back on track, so now you should be able to login and update the device as usual.
The team is still monitoring the situation.
