Heading over to the UK in a couple of months and looking at buying a GO 620 here as it is half the price of a UK one (total rip off buying one in the UK 300 pounds for the same device)

Does anyone know if the life time maps and camera's subscription would transfer to the UK maps or do I need to subscribe to the UK traffic and Camera's. I contacted TomTom and the bloke I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about.

Unless you have lifetime WORLD maps on your device, you can't get the UK map unless you pay extra. Same with Cameras.

You only get lifetime traffic for the region where the device was purchased. Can't get live traffic in the UK.

I have been using my brother's GO 620 for a couple of weeks now and based on my experience so far, I would advise against purchasing this unit. I have experienced a couple of serious navigation errors. One where it directed me to a street at the rear the location I programmed and suggested I could walk from there and once where the unit directed me down a dead end lane. Yesterday I ran a map update. The update downloaded for over 4 hours and then I got message that the update failed. I restarted the update last night at about 10 PM and let it run overnight. At 5:30 this morning I discovered that the unit had shut itself off. I turned it on and the screen message said "Downloading 0%". It is now 7:53 AM and the screen reads "Downloading 41%". The map update is for Canada/US/Mexico. This update took just over an hour on my TomTom Via (also downloaded last night). Beware.
