Voltage range for Tomtom rider 450
Hi, I'm wiring up my Tomtom rider 450 to a switched live on my bike. I've found a 4-pin accessory plug (not connected to any other socket) under the seat but the voltage on the switched live varies from 12.08v with the ignition on to 13.8v with the engine running. The question is will this voltage be too high as an input into my Tomtom dock?
Thanks,
Thanks,

No problem, the 12 -> 5 V converter in the mount can handle this easily.0

Great, thanks for the quick responses.0

I suggest you instal a 2amp fuse in the live supply just as a precaution in case there is an internal fuse on the board and you experience a power surge.
This was one of the main failures on the R2 mount as the fuse would blow and you were unable to replace without breaking into the mount.0 -
Thanks tugman, I was planning on installing a 1.6a in-line fuse (which will blow before, and be easier to replace than the fuse in the mount).
