While travelling from Montenegro to Bosnia-Herzegovina on 10 August 2018, Tomtom misguided us into a very old and rarely used road that is not paved with asphalt and takes 45 km in the middle of nowhere surrounded by thick woods and steep rocks. The normal highway had already remained behind us. Fortunately we came across a group of locals on the road (it was the only car we spotted) and we were warned about that the GPS did not work in Herzegovina. Those who are planning to make a road trip in the Balkans should be careful at least in Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina. In such cases, the main problem of the Tomtom navigation tool is that it does not pay any attention to the safety of roads while navigating.

Could you be a bit more specific on where you were travelling from and to? So others can check the route.
Also which device were you using? See https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9508/locale/en_GB
With which map version? See https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12214/locale/en_GB
