via 125 wont connect

Outstanding Wayfarer
have had my VIA 125 for a number of years and always been able to connect and update without problems. now it will not connect
i use a mac os 10.13.5 and have reloaded the tomtom software. i am using the same cable that i always have and it works with my other Via. have tried several other cables and several USB ports
have tried all the suggestions i found on the tomtom site including renewing the DHCP licence
any other suggestions, please?

By the way, you say you have a Via 125. That model was never sold in Canada. Did you get it elsewhere?0 -
thanks for your reply, but either i've already done the items discussed, or else they dont apply to my particular situation. i cant help but think that, since the same cable and usb port work just fine with my other identical unit, there must be a hardware issue with the port on this unit ... i will give it one more try and then it will be time to send it to tomtom heaven!
i am not sure where i got the unit. it might be a 1530/35. one of my frustrations is that the model number is not clearly shown easily legible on the unit. it would be good if future models did so.
