Update gets stuck installing MyDriveConnect!

So, I am trying to install MyDriveConnect, to no avail- no matter which method I use (windows xp install or windows 8 install), it always gets stuck either on the initial install or with the update, when it has to execute a particular part of the installation.
The CPU usage of the installer goes to 0, and nothing happens.
It gets stuck on (what is visible):
"Execute: "C:\Program Files (x86)\MyDrive Connect\vcredist\vcredist_x86.exe" /install /quiet /"
Does anyone have a solution to this? I don't know what else to do, as my Windows 8 laptop should be compatible with the software.
