    Hi @Navigation73

There is a long topic on this matter if you have a Apple phone and the issue that has existed since Apple issued IOS13. If it is relevant here is a link to the topic. There are later in the topic some suggestions on what will work.

I’ve tried everything, Tom Tom failed!!!!
Tom Tom rider 550 work only with intercom.
I back to use my phone with google map and finally I can speak on the phone for all my trip.
So I hope Tom Tom will make soon a properly new sat nav for riders.

First they should fix the Rider 550 bluetooth problem. I paid 500,-€ for navigation what didn't work as it schould.
If TomTom haven't qualifiet specialists, they should sack the old ones and get new ones.

Wish I had read the forum before buying the 550... :(

I've had a 550 for nearly 2 years now and I have never been able to get it to reliably connect to my iPhone. Just upgraded to an iPhone 11 and MyDrive consistently won't connect to it. Just says the TT is not within range - despite it sitting next to it. I'm very close to ditching TT for good and switching to Garmin.

    TT550 doesn’t work with iPhone.

    Hi there TriumphRob -

I purchased my Rider 500 which is not too dissimilar to a 550 in November 2019. Delete the original pairing settings on your iPhone and Rider you would have set up with the MyDrive app.
If you are using iOS 13+ you will need to connect your iPhone using the Bluetooth hotspot directly to the Rider to receive traffic data and NOT via the MyDrive app.
Do not have WiFi on your iPhone turned on.
I turn on the hotspot, turn on the Rider and within 30-60 seconds, traffic information appears on screen. I don't find this at all difficult to initiate and on some four hour bike rides, there has been no disruption to receiving the traffic data.
Secondly, I connect the Rider directly to my Bluetooth headset which has also given faultless directions and speed camera warnings. If my phone rings, calls are accepted and even though I can't see who is calling as the MyDrive app is not linked, I don't find it a serious issue, the same with any mobile text based information that the MyDrive app may have delivered.
You can still send routes to your Rider via the MyDrive app should you wish.
I’m currently using an iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 14.4 with no problems.
