I live in the UK and use a Tomtom Start 20, recently I have started having major issues with the device, it cant seem to ever get a signal despite trying a reset and downloading the latest software the issue has persisted and is now effectively useless. I only bought it 6 months ago so it shouldn't need replacing so quickly. Was wondering if anyone else is suffering similar issues or has an idea to try something to resolve the issue.

Is the battery fully charged in the device? If only six months old, should be under warranty.

Hi
@colin simpson
By Reset do you mean ???
Have you tried a Drum roll restart on the device ????
https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6965//session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNDI2NjM0NDUyL3NpZC9EQTdTVHpobQ
Charge the device for at least 2Hrs "OR" have the device plugged into a power supply
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
You won’t lose anything; it’s just like rebooting your PC
I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles......
If possible, for the for the first Satellite fix, go outside with a clear view of the Sky

Yes ensured device was fully charged before I did the reset but had no luck with that either. Think I’ll just have to take it back and ask for a refund/replacement.
thanks for your suggestions0 -
Hi
@colin simpson
Have you changed your vehicle... If "Yes" has it got a heat reflecting (Metallized) Windscreen/Windows this will kill a GPS signal
Have you installed a cheapo Dash cam some Dash cams have poor RF shielding and will kill a GPS signal
Have you changed the location of the Start 20 in the vehicle... i.e An Air vent Mount set low behind the Dashboard
