This week I have been struggling for many days with the Europe v10.10 map update on my TomTom Trucker 6000.
Download of the map was no problem, the error occurred during the installation when the progress counter was at approx. 32%
I repeated this more then 10 times before I noticed that my Antivirus Software (Norton Security) started to generate Vulnerability Protection error messages at the same point where the installation failed.

Apparently TomTom MyDrive Connect is doing something that Norton Security does not like.

It is sending a MyDoom A Worm Code

From: Local Address 169.254.256.2
To: Remote Address 169.254.256.1 at remote port 3129

When the TomTom Trucker is connected to my iMAC it appears as a network node with a self-assigned IP-address

I changed the Norton Security Firewall Settings in such a way that "Local Network IP addresses" are excluded from the Vulnerability Protection.

On my next attempt the V10.10 update was installed successfully.
This took about 1 hour and 11 minutes.

I hope this will be helpful.

Note 1:
I am not blaming TomTom nor Norton Security, the above is just a description of my observations.

Note 2:
I am not a (anti)virus expert, so after the update was successful I removed the exclusion of the local network addresses in the firewall settings of Norton Security.
