Is this another step backwards? My old xl gave an option of shortest v fastest route
Also speed related volume is no longer an option
Bought the go 6200 now feeling short changed why do so many features dissapear when you upgrade to what should be an upgraded product
Not impressed

The option for type of route is still there under Settings -> Route Planning.
Some other features, such as speed related volume are not available. It's probably best to look at the product as a totally new product rather than an upgraded one. It's just, well, "rather different". There are some new features too, as well as lots of features removed.1 -

Is this an accurate assessment or is there a way to asked for the option at the time of planning?0 -
Settings-->Route Planning-->Always ask …. is still there, the same as for earlier models.
When you plan a route with that setting, you then need to decide 'fastest', 'shortest', etc.
Next time you want to plan a route, AGAIN you will need to select the choice for the route.
This is the same as you needed to do before. Don't really know what your issue is....1 -
On my TT in Settings -> Route Planning I have
Always plan this type of route- Fastest
- Shortest
- Most eco-friendly
- Avoid Motorways
- Walking
- Bicycle

What model do you have?
My device shows (under 'When a faster route is available'):- Always take the fastest route
- Ask me so I can choose
- Don't ask me
. Fastest
. Shortest
. etc.0 -
As per your original reply where is 'Always ask' for Route Planning?
I think you are confusing the options for route planning with the options for what action TT should take when their is a faster route due to a traffic situation.0 -

OK thank you.
On my older device I get the chance to choose the route type each time, I do not understand why they have changed things though I'd have to guess that most people always ever on choose the same route type and probably usually the fastest.
Thank you for your help.0 -
@YamFazMan Hi, I am not sure if we are agreeing or disagreeing here.
I've just powered up an TomTom Go Live 1005 Model 4CR52 running App 12.07402687300.74 and in the Settings -> Route Planning -> Route Types menu there is the option of 'Ask me every time I plan'.
Every time I go Main Menu -> Navigate To... -> Favourite -> [select destination] the next screen says 'What type of route should be planned? and I get seven different types.
It is this option I was asking about.
I now know that with the current software I have to select my destination first then go back into the menus to pick a different route type.
Thank you for your help.0 -
Hi
My GO 825 Live is also setup the same way running App 12.07402687300.74 and in the Settings -> Route Planning -> Route Types menu option of is set to 'Ask me every time I plan
Just pointing out that both systems are basicly the same just different

So, basically the answer to my original question is no, the same option does not exist, but there is a workaround.
Thank you for providing the clarity0
