I was trying to update my Tom Tom One which I haven't used for several months. I charged it up and switched on and got an orange screen with a device on it and it showed the SD card coming out the bottom of the device and then getting a red cross over it. I took this to mean "remove the SD card, but when I did that it sim,ply showed the SD card with no red cross, being re-inserted. I have tried the reset described in the video on here, but it doesn't work, perhaps I am pressing the reset button too fast or too slow. Has anyone any suggestions apart from buy a new model!!

Your model has been declared End of Life by Tomtom, meaning no more map updates. So, I would think a new model might be in order, even if your current device can be fixed.
