Rider 450 configuration-Route planning
edited January 2019
Hello. I have selected in configuration menu, route calculation "ask everytime".but when I calculate a new route, never ask me. Is there any other configuration to be done?
Sorry, but it is not answered. If there is an option to choose "ask everytime". Why the program is not asking me?. I use my rider also in the car, in this case I usually use faster route, but in my bike I use route with curves. If I have to go to configuration menu, please delete the option "ask"
It not the same option as the previous models... You can't set the device to ask you for your "Route type" every time you plan a route
If you go back to the Setting Menu you will see it actually says "When a faster route is available"
If you think about it, the device has just planned the Best/Fastest route available (That matches the selected route type)
So at that moment in time there won't be a Better/Faster route available
With a route planned...
Tap on the displayed route, a quick menu opens Tap on the 3Dot Icon
Tap on alternate route > Tap on Change Route type Icon > Choose route type for THIS Journey
With a route planned tap on the route
From the main screen
Tap the 4Dot (.... Menu) Icon (Screen Bottom left)
Swipe left or Tap the mid/right edge of the screen to go to and tap the Current route Icon
Swipe left or Tap the mid/right edge of the screen to go to and tap the Change Route type Icon
Choose route type for THIS Journey
This fooled me for a while.
I believe it refers to when following a route with a traffic connection enabled. If it detects a quicker route that avoids the traffic delay, then this setting is used.
But as is always the way with TomTom, it’s not that clear.
a) ”Ask me so I can choose” is clear and the one I use. Faster routes appear on the route bar and sometimes it asks if I want to reroute, again it varies and I don’t know why.
b) “Always take the fastest route” and c) “Don’t ask me” - what’s the difference? I’ve not used them so I can only guess.
b) will reroute you without out asking.
c) will do no rerouting at all.
