I know the step counter is inaccurate has hell on the Runner 2 and Runner 3 - but will there ever be a software fix to this? I'm considering buying a new sports watch, but if this issue isn't resolved I cannot choose tomtom again. Ive quite enjoyed my product despite the step counter on the sports watch not being good.

You cannot and should not choose TomTom again. They have left the industry and are no longer producing new devices and are just selling out their existing inventory. We can safely assume at this point any updates will be limited to bug fixes (and even that may be limited - it has been over nine months since the last update broke connectivity for many users and introduced battery drain issues and that is still unresolved and I am not even sure the step counter is broken, it works fine for many people). I would not expect much more development and certainly not something major particularly on the watch side (they may continue to tweak the MySports site and app, but not the watches themselves). It is time to move onto another brand, just make sure you do your homework first and check their forums for issues before buying.

I hope this helped answer your question. If so, please mark it as a solution so others can look for it if they have the same question.
