Corrupt maps on the GO LIVE 825

My 825 Go Live reports "something has gone wrong" when I attempted to apply an update. I connected my device to my desktop as usual and Connect suggested I needed to update my map of Europe. Now it appears my maps are corrupt. How do I recover from this? I recently did an update to Connect, has this any bearing on the problem?

    If your serial number starts with 'FB' or 'FW' then the device is NOT (yet) considered End of Life by Tomtom but "FY">GO LIVE 825, 2GB + micro-SDHC, MyDrive Connect NAV3 Eol is.

    Call support but do NOT provide the model when prompted in order for a live agent to respond:
