I have a Via 160 with Australia and New Zealand maps plus UK. How long does it take the device to recognise a different map?

Are you asking whether the device switches maps automatically? If so, it doesn't.
There should be an option for Maps-->Switch maps though.0 -
No that wasn’t the issue. Last time I went over I switched maps but it seemed to take many hours before realising it was in a different country and I wondered if this was normal or whether the switch should be quicker0

@Spindlewoody
After you have switched maps, and are in the country of the map, perform a soft-reset
A soft reset :- with your device charged for at least 2Hrs "OR" have the device plugged into a power supply; press and hold your on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound (or the TomTom hands symbol appears) then release the on/off button. Make sure you are outside and have a clear view of the sky (satellites)0 -
Many thanks.. I’ll try the second option0
