GO 520 cannot get past the "I agree" screen

GO 520 purchase a few years ago. Haven't used it for a year, Switched it on and cannot get past the "I agree" screen. Tried a re-set to no avail. Very grateful if anyone could help.

When you use the reset button, are you sure the implement inserted into the hole is doing so properly?0

Yes, paper clip all the way.
When I re-set the drums comes on and the screen shows "writing route instructions". I then get the "I agree" (legal notice) screen that I cannot get past.0 -
If I then put it on the charging stand the screen changes to "Do you want to connect to Computer". Screen frozen again, cannot say YES or NO.0

Can you connect to Home and run the emulator ('Operate my Device')?0

I have just installed the CD but no connection is shown with the device.
I have just heard "turn around", spooky!0 -
Clearly, something is screwed up whereby a route is currently on the device but it appears you can't get at it.
Perhaps just leave the device on until the battery is completely dead. Then charge the device for 2-3 hours (device can be off) connected to the computer.
Then reset the device and see if it opens properly.0 -

I know the device has a dedicated reset hole so I don't know whether the method for resetting later models will work on that model but ........
Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.0 -
Hold down for 20 secs, no drum sound, it just goes off.0

Last shot..........hold the button for 40-45 seconds.0
