Cannot Scan Code to pair MyDrive app with GO 520 device - Error-"An error occurred. Please try again

I am trying to pair my new Go 520 with my Samsung Galaxy A3 via the MyDrive app. When I tap the "Scan Code" button, it says "An error occurred. Please try again later." I have read some similar Qs on this and there was a suggestion that the camera may not be linked. I have a QR code scanner on the phone and this works. As i got this SatNav for traffic reports not getting this functionality is a bit annoying to say the least. Please advise
