Hands screen keep flashing and battery discharges too quickly

I have done numerous hard resets but the following problem persists.

After charging -and also after connecting to Connect - the "charging screen" stays on. So to get to the normal screen, I plug it back in and soon as the hands appear, I unplug. Then there is intermittent functionality; first the hands screen appears and then disappear leaving the watch with no functionality, then it reappears and once it disappears again, functionality is restored if you catch it in this state. However, regardless of whether exercises are being recorded the battery discharges very quickly - even in flight mode.

Any ideas?

You probably need to call Support but try a recovery reset (instructions below) and see if that does anything. The battery drain issue is a known problem with the updates they rolled out last September. You need to request to be rolled back to 1.3.255 at the link below to solve this. The latest updates do not address the issue and there is no indication of when it may be resolved.

    1. Place your watch in the dock before you connect the dock to the computer.
    2. On your watch, move DOWN but keep the button pressed.*
    3. Connect the dock to the computer. Keep pressing the button until your watch shows tomtom.com/reset.
    4. Release the button and wait for MySports Connect to show Update.
    5. Click Update in MySports Connect.
    * If the USB port on your computer is not easily accessible, connect the dock to the computer without the watch. Then move down from the clock screen while you slide the watch into the dock.

To get the number for Customer Support, select Contact Us at the bottom of this page, select the service required and the product name and click Contact Customer Care and then Phone Us. It will give you the phone number for the country your account is registered under (this can be changed by clicking the flag icon in the bottom right corner of the screen).

Thanks. I have tried the reset a few times with no luck in resolving the problem. I'll request the roll-back and see what transpires from there.

The roll back may help with the shorter battery life but will not solve the primary issue you are seeing with the charging behavior. For that you really need to call Support.
