Not picking up a signal- Start 25 device

My sat nav takes ages to pick up a signal and sometimes not at all. When it does get a signal it keeps loosing it and become unstable. Any ides ?

    What model? When did you last get a gpsfix file? Is the battery fully charged?

    Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.

    This is a "Long-Shot" suggestion, based on a problem that I occasionally have with SOME TomToms!

    Try re-locating it to a different part of the Windscreen!

    I've had some TomToms that seemed to be particularly sensitive if located in the centre of the Windscreen (i.e. immediately above the in-car console). They showed precisely the symptoms that you are getting! I'm assuming that it was suffering from Electronic-Interference.

    Moving it to the side of the Windscreen, cleared the problem!!
