Runner 3 QuickGPSfix

QuickGPSfix on my Runner 3 is out-of-date and to fix a GPS when starting an activity takes ages. Update through TomTom Sports also does not work. Can anyone help how to fix this?
Have you tried updating via Sports Connect on the PC? If that still fails you can try using Sports Connect to turn the watch on and off. See the POWER OFF RESET steps on this page
Failing that the only other thing I can suggest is a factory reset (also on the above page).
