Life time maps

My old Tom Tom did come with Life time maps BUT to my surprise LIFE TIME MEAN what ever tom tom decides?? my life time maps was up to 3 years SO WHAT THE HELL IS "LIFE TIME MAPS" ??????????????? can any one comment on this Thanks

Thanks Niall, its unfortunate what had occur, in my case I was forced to buy a new gps (Garmin this time) who was the looser?? me of course definitely Tom Tom as well.
