My Tomtom VIA1535 has indicated that it is "Waiting for a valid GPS signal" for over a week now. It had this issue once before and I removed it and put it away for several months. When I used it again I needed a major update that besides the new map, got the GPS signal again. Now it is doing it again.
I can't use it the way it is. Should I put it away and go back to my smaller Tomtom unit?

When did you last get a gpsfix file using MyDriveConnect? Is the battery fully charged?

Hi
Have you tried a Drum roll restart on the device ????

In your case as you haven't used the device for so long
Charge the device for at least 3Hrs "OR" have the device plugged into a power supply
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
You won’t lose anything; it’s just like rebooting your PC
I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles......
If possible, for the for the first Satellite fix, go outside with a clear view of the Sky
