Portugal map on Start 20

Hi

Please forgive my ignorance!

I'm based in the UK and have loaded up my TomTom Start 20 with a map of Portugal for an upcoming trip in a hire car. Will the Portugal map kick in once I arrive in Portugal - as I can't "see" it on my TomTom device in the UK?

Any advice gratefully received.
