Latest Software seems to have affected my sync

I updated my watch (Spark Multisport Cardio + Music) to the latest software, however, since the update I have no longer been able to sync my watch and TomTom Sports app. I have 'forgotten' the watch on bluetooth list devices as well as on the watch itself. I cannot reconnect and have no way of viewing workouts on my app. How can I fix this? Do I need to restore to factory settings although I would want this to be a last resort so I don't lose music and settings. VERY FRUSTRATING!!
