Tomtom VIA 135 memory card format error

Hi Guys,
I own a tomtom via 135 and have purchased a kingston microSDHC 16GB memory card. Tomtom asks me if I want to format it and after selecting yes it tries and eventually returns an error message: "The formatting process could not be completed. The memory card cannot be used"
On tomtom websitew I found that there are 8 and 16 GB cards available for purchase for my navigation, therefore the size should be ok?
Can anyone help please?

You could try to format the card as fat 32 in Windows -- not quickformat -- and try again.
Or, perhaps try a SanDisk 16 gb card. That brand seems to have good results.0 -
Hi I did both quick and full format, did reset the device but still the issue persists.
I might have to buy a different card.0
