Store maps on SD card?

I want to download the entire USA & Canada map onto my Android device for use with the GO app. But it says I don't have enough space to download it. But I have a 32GB SD card in my phone (LG Escape 3), which is almost empty, but the app still says I don't have enough room. Is there any way to convince the app to put the map on the SD card rather than in the phone's main memory?

    RobertYKNWT,

Have you told the phone under settings to use the SD card??

I have installed it with no problems on a SD card.

If I am correct you have Android version 6.0 on that phone.

Unless you have rooted the phone and added a different version to the phone (LG Escape 3).

Yes, Android 6.0. Which "settings" would I have to go to to tell the phone to use the SD card? I can't find anything either under the phone's settings or under Settings for the GO app.

    RobertYKNWT,

    I have it under:
    1. Settings
    2. Advanced Settings
    3. Memory & Storage
    There you can pick:
    1. Storage Settings
    2. Default location
    3. SD Card
Now this is on my phone yours could be under another setting.

    Check your manual on that.
