TomTom Spark will not connect to iOS iPhone

Hi I have a spark and I realised it needed up dating, I updated it to the latest soft ware but after the up date it wouldn’t connect to my phone.
So far:
I have done a factory reset on the spark.
removed the watch from the app including in the Bluetooth menu.
removed the app.
Re-installed the app.
When I try to pair the spark I get to he point the phone recognises the watch press to select it and the watch shows a PIN number for 1 second then returns the the phone screen. The app in the mean time just continues to say searching an image of a watch and the dots going round.
