Device not updating- MyDrive Connect

hello
i have a tomtom go 2505 (aka 1005) i'm trying to update but it seems stuck at 'waiting for device'
back in december when i updated the maps it was the same problem.
what is going on with this thing, is there a way to fix it ?

- the device is connected to a win 10 pc, it is recognized by windows
- tomtom mydrive sees it,

Hi RDI
This is a know issue with MyDrive Connect application which is under investigation.
The update is actually installing, but not properly reflected in MyDrive Connect. Therefore, I would suggest you wait for the device to say when it's complete.
If the issue persists and the updates do not actually install, then please contact customer service to report this issue.

I ran MyDrive Connect as administrator, suggested in one forum (link below) and everything downloaded and installed smoothly.
