Shutting down message on the Via 1505M

While in car charger device displays shutting down ..starts count down map comes up than again shutting down ...whats up with that?

    Loose connection to device? Not connected properly to cig lighter outlet? Using the cable that came with the device? NOT using a usb port in the car, are you?
