Bad coding?

Why does "Mark this forum as read" take the user back to the discussions home page?
Rather than staying on the the board (sub-forum) the is the user asked to mark

N.B. TomTom has 3 "forums" (:flag_gb: EN :flag_fr: FR & :flag_de:DE ) each forum has several "boards" each board has many "topics" / "threads" each of these have 1 or more "entries" that u user may or may not have read

    Think I can see the :bug: problem :@ Somebody (Tom2 or InSided?) has change the forumID of this board but forgot to change the associated link in the look up table.

    Very sloppy change control :performing_arts:

    Thanks!
    I've reported it to them - for the ones I checked the IDs are all fine so it's not that :thinking:

    @Lorna

    Any news, have InSided found where they recently changed the code, as it did work correctly before the introduction of WYSIWYG :(

    Yes - sorry - forgot to update the topic.

    This is apparently expected behaviour in the new forum. Their reason is that you marked it as read because you didn't want to read it, so it makes more sense to take you back to the overview for something you do want to read.

    That is very wrong, even the link has the return tag, and is very lazy coding to not return the user to where they instigated the refresh :@ Who signed off the change?? As this is how the new forum worked before the intro of WYSIWYG !!
    It is like when you find that you need to re-login, you are also taken to the home page, not to where the thread that you where looking at was

    @Niall The return tag is not intended to redirect you - it's for tracking.
    The change was part of their release so they don't ask us for sign-off - it's their software :wink:If they had to ask every customer to sign off I don't think they'd ever release anything!

    Can you tell me what you mean? If I'm not logged in and I click to like a post it takes me through the login and back to the thread. Where is it not working?
