I have the 'TomTom ONE 2nd Edition, 1GB + SD 2GB, TomTom HOME' and it works fine to a point but then on random occasions whilst driving it comes up with an 'reading error' message on it.
So we will be using this to direct us to somewhere whilst listening to music on our stereo in the car. Then on the screen of the Sat Nav it says 'reading error' and briefly stops the music playing only to then start working again 20 seconds later? This then does it at random times throughout our journey. Has anyone else had the same problem?
I have today connected it to my computer and done all the relevant software updates but that hasn't helped?
Can anyone advise me on how to prevent this happening?
Thanks

Try a manual backup of the unit's contents, not Home. See here:
https://www.tomtomforums.com/threads/how-to-backup-the-contents-of-your-unit-to-the-computer-and-how-to-restore-it.17864/
Then format the device, don't use quickformat.
Restore the backup. See if that helps.0
